OFFICIAL RULES

 

Contest begins September 1, 2006 and ends November 30, 2006 and all entries must be received by that date. Contest is open to U. S. residents 18 years or older. Employees, officers and directors (and their immediate families [parents, children, spouses and siblings] regardless of where they live and members of their same households [whether related or not]) of Bay Valley Foods LLC ("Sponsor"), its parent, subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies; retailers and distributors of Bay Valley Foods products; and entities engaged in the development, distribution, implementation or administration of this Contest are not eligible. Void in Maryland, Vermont, North Dakota, Puerto Rico and where prohibited by law. By participating, contestants agree to these Official Rules and the decisions of Weber Shandwick Advertising and Public Relations Agency and the independent judging organization, which are final and binding in all respects.

1.) To enter, submit a recipe in any one of five categories including appetizers, soups, entrees, breads, and desserts using Steinfeld's Sauerkraut, Wine Kraut, or Red Cabbage as an ingredient. Contestant must be the author of, or otherwise have all rights in and to, the recipe submitted.

2.) To submit entry, recipes should be legibly written or typed on an 8-1/2" x 11” sheet of paper and must include chef's name, address and telephone number. Clearly print your full name, complete address with zip code, daytime and evening phone number and your age on an entry form obtained at a participating retailer, at www.steinfeldssauerkraut.com or on a 3x5 inch card with recipe as stated above to:

The recipe should also have the chef's full name clearly printed on the back. Any entry, which in the sole opinion of Sponsor is deemed to be inappropriate for publication is ineligible. All Contest materials, recipes and entries submitted become the property of Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned.

Entries may also be submitted via e-mail to steinfeldsrecipes@webershandwick.com Attachments will not be opened.

4.) Only one entry per person per household in each category. Entries must be received by November 30, 2006. The Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, damaged, illegible, misdirected, incomplete or postage due entries/mail.

5.) Winners will be selected on or about January 15, 2007 by an independent panel of judges based on originality, presentation, ease of preparation, and appetite appeal. Winners will be notified by phone and/or by mail. All prizes will be awarded, assuming sufficient entries.

 

Prizes: One (1) First Place Winner receives $1,000 cash plus a one-year supply (52 jars) of Steinfeld's Sauerkraut, Wine Kraut, or Red Cabbage, ARV $1,234. Three (3) Second Place Winners receive $250 cash plus a six-month supply (26 jars) of Steinfeld's Sauerkraut, Wine Kraut, or Red Cabbage, ARV $367. Five (5) Third Place Winners receive a six-month supply of Steinfeld's Sauerkraut, Wine Kraut, or Red Cabbage, ARV $117. Taxes on all prizes are solely the responsibility of the winner.

6.) Winners release Bay Valley Foods LLC and its parent, subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, employees or agencies from any and all liability sustained from any injuries, losses or damages of any kind resulting from acceptance, possession, or use/misuse of any prize or participation in this promotion.

7.) Except where prohibited by law, acceptance of a prize shall constitute
and signify the winner's agreement and consent that Bay Valley Foods, LLC may use the winner's name and address (city & state) and recipe for
promotional purposes without further payment or consideration.

By acceptance of prize, except where legally prohibited, winner grants permission (and agrees to confirm such agreement in writing) for Sponsor and those acting pursuant to Sponsor's authority to print, publish, broadcast and use his/her name and prize information and entry recipe (and grants to Sponsor a non-exclusive right and license to use said recipe in whole or in part, alone or in combination with other works, and agrees that it may be changed, altered, edited or modified, or used in any other manner as solely determined by Sponsor) for advertising, trade and promotional purposes at any time or times without further compensation in all media now known or hereafter discovered or devised world wide and on the Internet and/or World Wide Web without notice or review or approval. Winners will be required to complete, sign and return an affidavit of eligibility, a liability release, and a publicity release, where lawful. If affidavits/releases are not returned within fourteen (14) days from date of notification, or winner is found to be ineligible or not in compliance with these official rules, or prize/prize notification is returned as undeliverable, prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner selected.
